Flight – Five Sentence Fiction

Five Sentence Fiction – though you don’t typically find fiction on this blog, thought some of you might be interested in this type of prompt, so thought I’d share. It’s pretty cool, challenging, creative 😉 I enjoyed doing it!
Anyway, just something I was thinking about . . .

I love Five Sentence Fiction!! This is probably one of my favorite writing prompts 🙂

Five Sentence Fiction – Flight

She was nervous and excited, scared and exhilarated, and felt twenty years younger. She couldn’t believe she was doing this. She hated to fly and hadn’t in decades and now she had jumped from a perfectly good airplane. Rushing into the wind, she had pulled the ripcord. Now she was flying and floating through the air like a bird, with a view that couldn’t be described.

(OOOhh  . . . maybe I’ll use this in my NaNoWriMo! 😉 )

    1. Thanks so much Mark! I have so much fun with those short-writing prompts – I can be a bit wordy, so it’s always a fun challenge!! That one just came so quickly, too, for some reason. Maybe subconsciously I would love to do that!

      1. I bet you would love to do that, Sadie. Windy! Writing wise … Oh, never mind. It is interesting to self-edit drastically for word limits. I am writing freelance for a glossy magazine and am experience a word limit each issue. Not that short of a quota, mind you …

        1. Mark – I would love to get some insight on how to get a writing gig like that. I have always been paid by others to write in a full-time position, so I am struggling a bit with this new “freelance frame of mind and work structure” – i.e. how to make the right contacts or moves to get the job, I got the rest! I am used to deadlines, word limits, quotas, being edited, etc. If you’re ever up for that, maybe you could give me some pointers 🙂
