  1. Janis was an extraordinary artist. She was a diamond shining from the ground – so earthy and yet with such a voice and lyrics that motivated – even though her songs were often based on sad situations. i’m gonna have to go look up some more Janis tunes for listening while i write.

    1. Hey Paul! I love listening to her when I write, though I have a long playlist for writing, full of many different styles 🙂 Janis has been a fav of mine since junior high. Right now listening to Collective Soul – Hints, Allegations & Things Left Unsaid. Inspired CD! One of my favs – though I have sooooo many LOL! Now Robert Cray is playing – if you have never listened to him, go check him out 🙂

  2. ‘My friends all have Porshes, I must make amends.’ I know, different Janis song, Sadie. I hope you’re killing it in the new gig and will soon be shopping for Janis’ metaphorical Mercedes. Miss you, my friend. Have a great summer!

    1. I love that one, too, Mark & know all the words by heart!! I will often just bust out singing that one for no reason . . . LOL! The new gig has been a disappointment thus far – started strong – but the guy I am working with has plenty of money & doesn’t seem to be super motivated. I, on the other hand, must stop the 401K hemorrhaging, and am becoming antsy . . . and disenchanted. We’ll see. . . I haven’t given up yet, as it is a very small amount of money, but more than I was making. I am going to start looking at other options. Maybe the climate’s a bit better for writers/comm/PR jobs, maybe i’ll do this insurance thing somewhere else. Who knows . . . nothing is what I thought it would be a mere 3 years ago 😉 Have missed you, too – need to blog stalk you a bit and catch up 🙂 Hope you have a great summer as well!

      1. Sorry to hear that the money spigot is a bit slow at the new job. It’s so hard. Maybe down/over your way the field has leveled in our special little pool, Sadie. I hope so. I took two Civil Service job tests here in May, for two openings with our county for PR/comm jobs listed on their site board. Walked in to see 50 people for six tests (the other four had specialties like mechanical or unfamilar industry tagged to the job requirements). Six weeks later, and they’ve yet to post results or contact candidates. Yikes! (Guess I wasn’t one of the lucky three interviewees testing highest for those two jobs?) So I’m still sending out resumes and cover letters and working my part-time gigs. But I’m trying to have a great summer nonetheless. Thank you, my friend. Best wishes to you as always, Sadie. Summer does make things better. 🙂
