Me & WP – One Year Now!

Hi Blog Buds! I have been missing you 🙂

I’ve been trying to catch up here and there the last few weeks – which might I add have absolutely flown by!! Finally getting over the crud that was going around, and trying to get it together to end this semi-crappy year and move on to a new year, and hopefully some wonderful new adventures and opportunities. I say semi-crappy because in the scheme of things, it could’ve been much worse.

My philosophy in life, generally, is if by the end of the day no one has died, no one is terminally ill and no one is scarred for life, it’s been a damn good day – or at least it wasn’t as bad as it may have seemed.

So, though I have spent the last year “job free” against my will, and we have really pillaged our “retirement” savings, which we will pay dearly for – all in all, it could have been a worse year.

Last month, I wrote ~29,000 words of the novel that has been inside me for years. NO, I did not “win” NaNoWriMo, but I still consider it a success for me. I am very happy with how some of it is going, and stuck in a few places, as well. I’m working it out . . . and I do plan on finishing it. (Here’s a few excerpts, if you like a little romance and contemporary fiction.)

I have just reached my one year anniversary on WordPress. This is where I started blogging. I’m just tickled that I have found not only an audience for my musings (72 blogs thus far), but another family — of writers all motivating, inspiring, and encouraging each other. So many of you I miss when I have been away from my blog for any length of time, and I try to find the time to catch up with you when time allows.

Anyway – I wanted to thank you all for making me feel special, for allowing me into your life by spending your precious time with me, and for sharing with and teaching me, as well. I am truly honored!!

Hugs to you all ❤

Just something I was thinking about . . .

  2. Many congratulations, may you have many more years of blogging ahead of you.
I couldn’t believe it when I hit my one year milestone, but now I’ve been writing for two and a half and it seems to have flown by. I couldn’t do without it now and, having taken a break for a couple of months, it’s just like slipping back into a favourite pair of shoes or some comfortable worn-out jeans, I can’t see how I did without it for even a few weeks.
More power to your blogging muscles!

    1. Thanks so much Dale! I don’t always write regularly, but I am going to work on that after the holidays. There’s been a lot going on in my world lately that has been taking my time & energy, but once the holidays quiet down, I hope to get on a more regular schedule. Thanks for the encouraging words 🙂

  3. Contests on the anniversary. I just passed two months. You’re right, it’s a whole new community of support.

Great job staying positive, I too am job free against my will and my savings is shrinking.

    Hang on there, sister

    1. Thanks GR (I could’ve sworn that I replied to this when it came in via my phone – I do not trust that little gadget, ’cause sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn’t!)

You stay positive, too – I know it’s hard! We’ll hang on together 🙂

Thanks for the follow, the read, and the encouraging words!

    1. DSS – I know I replied to this from my phone – I don’t think my phone always posts when it says it does . . . anyway . . .

  4. Happy one WP year, Sadie.

Head up high job-seeking-wise. You and I are in the same rocky boat on those waters. Your description here regarding financial seas … scarily similar. But so many other good things grow writing-wise out of that freed chunk of time, right?

So as we head toward 2015, I’ll add my message of good cheer for the best holiday and New Year for you and your loved ones, too. Read you soon, my friend.

    1. Thanks so much, Mark! I definitely will be emailing you soon regarding freelance tips . . .
And yes, though financially things have been a bit scary, the time I have been able to spend with my grandkids and writing has been great & something I would not have been able to do working. I do try to find the blessings in this “uncharted path” I have found myself on 🙂
Sending lots of good cheer to you & yours, as well! Here’s to a wonderful 2015, even on roads less traveled . . . may they make all the difference!!!
